Writers and journalists on the dance floor

On May 22, the Presseclub Concordia invited guests to a ball in the festively decorated halls and the arcade of the Vienna City Hall. Mai 2026 zu einer rauschenden Ballnacht in die vom Wiener Stadtgartenamt geschmückten Festsäle und den Arkadenhof des Wiener Rathauses ein. Over 2,500 guests, including prominent figures from politics, business, culture, and the media, were seen at the traditional summer ball for journalists and writers. As one of the oldest balls in Vienna, the Concordia Ball has offered sophisticated entertainment in an extraordinary setting for 126 years. 

The Wiener Opernball Orchester has been a tradition for decades, and in this year's edition, guest conductor Oliver Ostermann provided the best Viennese entertainment. The two quadrilles, announced by dance master Chris Lachmuth, the traditional Danube Waltz, and the Radetzky March at the end ensured an uninhibited and carefree atmosphere among the ball guests until four in the morning.
