On 8 and 10 January 2026, everything at the KKL Lucerne and the Stadtcasino Basel revolved around the Viennese music of the “Golden Age.” The Vienna Opera Ball Orchestra, conducted by Andreas Spörri, performed classics from the Strauss dynasty as well as works by Franz von Suppè, Joseph Hellmesberger, Franz Lehár, Giacomo Puccini, and others. Soprano Claudia Goebl and tenor Iurie Ciobanu delighted the audience with selected arias and duets. As always, Erwin Belakowitsch guided the audience through the lively programme in his characteristically cheerful manner. 

Further concerts by the Vienna Opera Ball Orchestra, conducted by Andreas Spörri and titled “Viennese Summer Night Concert,” will take place on 19 and 21 June at the Concert Hall Solothurn.
